BackElizabeth A. O'Brien - Of Counsel

Elizabeth A. O'Brien received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School, Newark, NJ in 1985 and her B.A. from Rutgers College in 1981.  Liz was admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars in 1985.

Ms. O'Brien's practice concentration is real estate.  She has handled a broad range of commercial real estate transactions and real estate-related litigation: development, purchase and sales, finance, leasing, foreclosure, and title insurance.

She entered private practice after law school and was an associate with Shanley & Fisher, P.C. (now Drinker Biddle) where she represented major real estate developers, landlords and banks.  From 1992 to 2008, she established and ran her own practice concentrating in real estate transactions, refinances, land use and historic preservation issues.  Liz also consulted in real estate litigation matters.  In 2009, she joined the Purcell firm to handle commercial and individual real estate transactions and to lend her expertise and advice to the handling of litigation involving real estate transactions and title insurance.

Ms. O'Brien is also involved in local community affairs in Millburn Township where she resides with her husband and their three children.  Liz has volunteered at New Jersey Citizen Action in Newark, New Jersey where she has worked on community development projects and fundraising.  She also has provided NJAC with advice concerning proposed legislation.
